Kybella Q & A with Our Manhattan Dermatologist

Dermatology, Cosmetic & Laser Surgery
for NYC, Manhattan & Worldwide

Many Americans suffer from having excess fat below the chin and believe they must continue to live with it. However, a revolutionary new treatment known as Kybella makes the removal of chin fat quick and easy.

Kybella is a minimally-invasive procedure in which our Manhattan, NYC dermatologist, Dr. Bruce Katz, injects a solution made of deoxycholic acid into your excess chin fat. This solution effectively destroys the fat cells’ membranes so they collapse and your body can naturally absorb and remove the fat. Kybella is FDA-approved and within a short amount of time will safely and effectively give you the youthful look you’ve been desiring. More Information About Kybella in a Question & Answer Session with Dr. Katz

Here are some answers to the important questions surrounding Kybella:

1). How many treatments of Kybella will I need?

Typically two to three treatments with Kybella will be enough for the injections to be effective at removing the fat cells from your chin area (submental fat).

2). How far apart are the injections done?

Injections are typically done one month apart from each other.

3). What side effects, if any, should I expect following the treatments?

If you experience any side effects, they may be minor bruising and swelling, minor pain, itching and redness at the injection site. These side effects typically wear off quickly and do not last long.

4). How long will the swelling last?

Swelling of the injection site will typically last between a couple of days and a week, depending on how quickly an individual person heals.

Why Call Our New York Dermatologist for Kybella Treatments?

In order for Kybella to be administered safely and effectively, it has to be injected into the proper layer of the fat cells. If it is injected improperly, there is a possibility of nerve damage. This is why choosing a dermatologist that has the most experience is of the utmost importance. Dr. Katz was one of a limited number of Board-Certified dermatologists that were a part of the clinical trials that led to Kybella’s FDA-approval, so he has a vast knowledge of the product and how to administer it. On top of this, Dr. Katz has been working as a dermatologist for decades and has been a part of multiple clinical trials for some of the most popular and effective treatments on the market.
