SculpSure vs. CoolSculpting
If you’ve made the decision that you want to undergo a body contouring treatment to remove excess fat, you may be wondering which non-surgical treatment option is right for you because there are many to choose from. Our patients often ask how SculpSure compares to Coolsculpting®, a fat removal procedure that uses the process of cryolipolysis (fat freezing). During a CoolSculpting procedure, a provider utilizes a device that freezes your targeted fat cells. The frozen fat cells eventually die and are naturally removed by your body through the lymphatic system.
Here are some facts about CoolSculpting:
- FDA approved
- Only one area can be targeted per treatment
- Treatments take about one hour
- Most areas need 2 to 4 treatments for optimal results
As opposed to CoolSculpting, which uses cooling technology, SculpSure treatments are delivered by a laser system that heats your fat cells, essentially melting them — WarmSculpting. Additionally, the heat from SculpSure encourages collagen and elastin production in the treated areas. This encourages healthy and youthful tissue growth, leaving your treated areas thinner, tighter, and more attractive. Once the SculpSure treatment is complete, you will be able to return to your regular day with no lingering numb sensation (which is what is often felt with Coolsculpting). Delayed onset pain has also been described after Coolsculpting.
At JUVA Skin & Laser Center, we do not offer treatments with CoolSculpting. We want to provide only the best products and technology to our patients while saving you money, time, and maximizing your results. Because SculpSure generally only requires one to two treatments per area, it saves our patients time and makes their fat loss more efficient.
