Restylane Lyft is the only hyaluronic acid filler that has been FDA approved for hand rejuvenation. It’s traditionally used in the face, but has also been discovered to achieve excellent results for the hands. Radiesse is a dermal filler made from calcium hydroxyapatite, and has also been FDA approved for the backs of the hands.
Both offer great results, but Radiesse may be a little less comfortable during injections because it doesn’t come with an anesthetic built into it. It also has to be injected with more pressure because it’s made of a thicker gel. This can cause more of a sting.
When you arrive for your hand rejuvenation treatment, the area will be numbed to make you more comfortable during the administering. Once your hands are numb, the dermal filler will be injected in one of two ways:
There is no downtime with hand rejuvenation, but some patients experience slight swelling and bruising for a few days. Results last for 6 to 10 months, at which point you can return for touch-up treatments.
