Frequently Asked Questions
What are age spots?
Age spots are the result of cumulative sun exposure. In tanning, the skin responds to ultraviolet radiation by producing melanin, a pigment that protects the skin from burning. After significant sun damage, the skin will begin producing melanin unevenly, making the skin darker in some places.
What is the Revlite laser and how does it work?
Cynosure’s Revlite utilizes advanced laser technology to target your unwanted sun damage and age spots. The energy delivered causes the spots to slowly disappear through your body’s natural healing process, revealing clearer, more beautiful-looking skin.
Is a Revlite session painful?
A numbing cream is applied to the patient’s skin prior to treatment. For most patients there’s virtually no pain, no downtime, allowing you to return to your normal activities right after your session.
When will I see results from Revlite sessions?
Typically, you only need one or two treatments depending on the condition to achieve preferred results. Patients can expect to see a decrease in the appearance of age spots in the treated area within 2 weeks of treatment.
Does Revlite treat other pigmentation issues?
Yes, the Revlite laser light treatment is suitable for treating age spots, sun damage, and freckles on the face, neck, chest, arms, hands, legs, and feet.
